Mei Tais

MEI TAI

Boy with lion mei taiA Mei Tai (think “MAY i TIE this on” when it comes to pronouncing it) is a carrier based on an ancient Asian method of carrying babies. It has a main body panel, where the baby sits and covers baby’s back, that connects to a waistband which extends to straps for the waist with two additional straps connected to the two top corners for wrapping around mom’s shoulders and then wrap back around baby in some fashion.

Mei Tais are nice because they can last through a lot of the growth of your baby. They can be worn on the front, hip or back and have great weight distribution. They can also be cooler by the sheer fact that nothing is wrapped around mom or baby. Mei Tais can be customized with printed fabric, adding rings or buckles to the waist straps, and using either padded or wrap style straps for the shoulders.

We’re just about done! One more click and that will wrap this up (hahaha)!
